The 2025 Kansas Chapter ACI officer ballots will be issued soon. If you are a member of ACI, please watch your emails for your link to the ballot. The deadline to vote will be August 29th.
Student Activities
The UMKC Student ACI Chapter is hosting an ACI Student Competition: Egg Protection Device, on Saturday, September 20th at the UMKC Highbay Lab. They are looking for corporate sponsors to help fund the event and provide funds for winners, to be used for travel expenses to get to the ACI Convention for the competition in Baltimore, MD. Call for Posters! The ACI Young Professional Poster Session will be held on Tuesday, October 28th during the ACI Concrete Convention in Baltimore, MD. They are looking for entries. The deadline to submit is August 15th. Click here to find out more information.

KS ACI Scholarship
The Winners of the 2025 Student Scholarships have been chosen! Help us to congratulate them on their success and future leadership in the concrete industry! Winners from three Kansas Schools will receive a $2000 scholarship for the Fall 2025 semester.

Jobe Haverkamp, a Construction Science and Management student at Kansas State University is planning on graduating in May of 2028. Jobe is working through college without loans and was inspired by a superintendent at an internship at a concrete construction company. We wish good luck to Jobe and hope for a successful future career in the concrete industry.

Karly Kill is a Construction Engineering Technology major at Pittsburg State University, looking to graduate in May of 2027. Karly is in the honors program, is involved in the Student Government Association representing the School of Construction and the College of Technology, and serves as an officer in the PSU ACI Student Chapter. As a future engineer or project manager, Karly plans to help create concrete structures that will focus on quality and efficiency.

Emily Cross is an Architectural Engineering student at the University of Kansas graduating in May of 2026. Emily has had two internships with engineering firms and studied abroad in Wales for a semester. As a future structural engineer, with a focus on safe and sustainable infrastructure, Emily is sure to have a successful career advancing our concrete community.

Supplemental Examiners Needed
We are always looking for volunteers to be supplemental examiners for the Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I exams. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute back to our community and ensure that we have properly trained, certified technicians in the field testing our concrete.
